After the Prestige oil spill in Galicia, Spain, in November of 2002, MARKLEEN had been contracted by SASEMAR, Spanish Coast Guards, to organize the oil spill response along the Atlantic coast and to deal with the maintenance, the repairing and the cleaning of the oil spill response equipment.
Our actions can be summarized as the following:
1 Oil boom deployment to protect sensitive areas
2 Oil spill containment and recovery in specific sites
3 Technical problems solving in situ
4 Storage, maintenance and repairing of all the oil spill equipment in La Coruņa base
5 Cleaning of all the oil spill equipment used during the response
